Research Integrity and Responsible Innovation Special Committee Preparatory Committee Held Working Meeting
On January 19, 022, the Preparatory Committee of the Professional Committee on Scientific Research Integrity and Responsible Innovation held an online working meeting to discuss matters related to the formal establishment of the Committee and the main work to be carried out in 2022.
The meeting determined that preparations will be made for the inaugural meeting of the special committee and the seminar on scientific research integrity and responsible innovation in the first half of this year. At the same time, several working groups will be set up to plan activities around the themes of education and training, academic norms, publishing ethics, investigation of scientific research misconduct and responsible innovation, such as formulating relevant norms and guidelines, studying and compiling reading materials, issuing statements or initiatives, To provide assistance for universities and scientific research institutions to carry out in-depth work, promote the solid landing of policies and measures related to the integrity of scientific research in China.
During the discussion, everyone reached a consensus on some important issues related to the development of the special committee, including the need to further understand the needs of relevant departments, universities, scientific research institutions, and scientific researchers, and provide targeted support and services; give full play to the special committee in research The advantages of tracking international hot issues in the field of scientific research integrity and ethics; promote the development of high-level theoretical and applied research, and publicize and introduce distinctive practical cases at home and abroad, as well as combing and developing the relevant resources and applicable tools for the construction of scientific research integrity.
At present, the Preparatory Committee has been entrusted by relevant departments and units to carry out some work support and publicity and education activities, and has identified some projects to be carried out. In the next step, it will attract more interested members and members to actively participate through relevant working groups, comprehensively promote the work process in all aspects, and increase the cohesion of the special committee.
