"Letter of Scientific Research" Project China Regional Roundtable Successfully Held


On the afternoon of September 8, 2022, the China Regional Roundtable on the "Letter of Scientific Research" project sponsored by the China Society for Science and Technology Policy and Elsevier was successfully held in Beijing. Nearly 40 experts and scholars from domestic universities and scientific research institutes attended the meeting.

As a transnational independent research project, "letter of scientific research" (Confidence in Research) aims to understand the changes of public attention to scientific research in the post epidemic era through questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with experts of about 3000 researchers around the world, evaluate the main factors affecting the confidence of researchers in scientific research, track the behavior characteristics of researchers in carrying out scientific research and disseminating scientific research results, and take this insight as the basis, promote multi-party cooperation to launch a series of actions to help researchers promote knowledge development and benefit society.

Mu Rongping, chairman of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy, presided over the meeting and delivered an opening speech. Li Lin, president of Elsevier Greater China, introduced the background and plan of the "Letter of Scientific Research" project. The Economist magazine shared The research results and main findings of the "Letter of Scientific Research" project in China's scientific research community. In response to the survey results, the participating experts and scholars conducted in-depth and enthusiastic group discussions based on their own work practices. The meeting condensed the views and suggestions of Chinese scholars on the "Letter of Scientific Research" project and was a complete success.
