[Special Committee Dynamics] U.S. Department of Health Integrity Office (ORI) Releases Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2021

The Office of Scientific Research Integrity (ORI) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released its Annual Report for fiscal year 2021 at the end of March, which includes five parts: case investigation and supervision, communication with stakeholders, internal projects, ORI-funded projects and compliance projects, reflecting the work carried out through various statistical data and text descriptions.

In terms of investigation and supervision of scientific research misconduct cases, ORI received 230 reports, accepted 55 reports, carried forward 24 cases from last year, and closed 95 cases and administrative closure. In May 2021, ORI launched a dedicated File Transfer System (FTS);41 institutions used the system to upload 5341 documents covering 47 cases.
