Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the New Globalization Era: China and the World

       “Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference”(GEIC) was founded in 2013 and jointly initiated and jointly built by experts and scholars from China, the Netherlands, Israel, the United Kingdom and other countries. It aims to promote the development of a global innovative and entrepreneurial economy and promote relevant countries to carry out in-depth interdisciplinary, cross-field, and cross-border innovation and entrepreneurship research, education and practice. Meeting successively inChina Jilin University, Israel Ben• Gurion University, Nankai University in China, and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands have successfully held five sessions and have become important annual meetings with extensive international influence in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the the People's Republic of China, the 6th Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference will be held in Beijing from August 22 to 23, 2019.
This conference will invite famous Chinese and foreign experts, scholars and entrepreneurs to participate and deliver speeches. At the same time, it will cooperate with authoritative journals at home and abroad to recommend the publication of conference papers or special issues. The meeting lasts for two days, the first day is a high-level forum, and the second day is a parallel paper discussion and project roadshow. Experts, scholars and entrepreneurs at home and abroad are welcome to actively participate and contribute. 3. Conference Themes and Issues
Since the 2008 international financial crisis, globalization has entered a new era. The slowdown in world economic growth has become the new normal: trade protectionism is on the rise, cross-border trade, financial and investment flows are slowing down, global supply chains are facing restructuring, and the current rules of the world trading system are facing challenges. Under the new development trend, entrepreneurship and innovation have become the main driving forces of global economic and social development, and their importance will further increase in the next few years. The new era of globalization and the many challenges facing the economy and society of various countries require a critical review and reflection on the theory, practice and policy of entrepreneurship and innovation. To this end, the theme of this year's annual meeting is "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Model in the New Globalization Era: China and the World". Appendix: Review of the previous five Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conferences
 
2014The first year
On April 29-30, 2014, the first global innovation and entrepreneurship conference jointly sponsored by Jilin University and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, namely the "International Symposium on 2014 Science and Technology Entrepreneurship and China's Innovative Economic Development", was successfully held in Jilin University. More than 100 experts, scholars and entrepreneur representatives from nearly 10 countries, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Russia, Israel, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Bangladesh and China, conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, entrepreneurial economy, and China's implementation of innovation-driven development strategy. Professor Dan Shechtman, Nobel Prize winner and technology entrepreneurship expert, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Some of the outstanding papers submitted by the participants were published in the Technology Analysis & Strategic Management Journal (International SSCI Journal).
 
2015Second year
On May 29, 2015, the 2nd Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference and the Northeast Old Industrial Base under the New Normal were co-sponsored by Jilin University, Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology and other units, and undertaken by Jilin University China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Research Center and other units. The International Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Economic Development was grandly held in Changchun. Nearly 100 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from Israel, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Development Research Center of the State Council, Tsinghua University, Jilin University and other research institutions and universities attended the meeting. General Ma Teng, former Israeli ambassador to China, unveiled the "China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Research Center of Jilin University" and delivered a keynote speech. On the basis of tracking and drawing lessons from the frontier theories and practices of innovation and entrepreneurship at home and abroad, the conference deeply discussed the revitalization of the northeast old industrial base and the transformation of innovation and entrepreneurship under the new normal. The meeting was widely reported by CCTV News, Phoenix Satellite TV, Xinhuanet, China News Network, Guangming Daily, People's Daily, China Social Science News and other media.
 
2016Third year
On May 16-17, 2016, co-sponsored by Jilin University and Ben Gurion University in Israel, and hosted by the China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Research Center of Jilin University and the Bengis Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Ben Gurion University, the third Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, and the "China-Israel International Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Challenges" were successfully held in Beersheba, Israel. More than 400 experts, scholars, government officials and entrepreneurs from China, Israel, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and other countries attended the meeting. Mr. Shimon Peres, Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Israeli President, delivered a warm and touching congratulatory message for the meeting through video. The event caused a strong reaction in Israel. Israel's "Ha'aretz", "Israel Times", China Central Television's "News Room", "News Network" and "Science and Technology Daily" and "China Social Science News" reported it.
 
2017Fourth Annual
From May 20 to 21, 2017, sponsored by Nankai University, Jilin University, and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Nankai University's Collaborative Innovation Center for Socialist Economic Construction with Chinese Characteristics, and Jilin University's China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Research Center, the fourth Global Innovation Entrepreneurship was successfully held in Tianjin. This conference is composed of two parts: the international academic conference with the theme of "shaping a new economy oriented by mass entrepreneurship and innovation" and the collaborative innovation forum with the theme of "innovation leader. Zhang Laiwu, former vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Du Tanghai, an internationally renowned architect and urban designer, and Dan Blumberg, vice president of Ben Gurion University in Israel, and more than 100 experts from China, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany and other countries Scholars, entrepreneurs and representatives of relevant government departments attended this meeting. The above activities have received attention and reports from CCTV's "News Network", "People's Daily", "Guangming Daily", Xinhua News Agency and other media.
 
2018The fifth year
On October 11-12, 2018, the Fifth Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference was jointly sponsored by the University of Amsterdam and Jilin University in the Netherlands, and co-sponsored by the China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Research Center of Jilin University, the Business School of the University of Amsterdam, and the Chinese Cultural Center in The Hague, the Netherlands The conference was successfully held at the University of Amsterdam. The theme of this conference is "Science and Technology Entrepreneurship: the driving Force of Contemporary economy and Business". Professor Alexander Rinnooy-Kan, former chairman of the Dutch Social and Economic Commission, and more than 100 experts and scholars from China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, India, Turkey and other countries attended the meeting and conducted in-depth exchanges on this topic. The leaders of the University of Amsterdam, the head of the Chinese Cultural Center in The Hague, and the responsible comrades of the Social Science Department of Jilin University attended the meeting. The conference published a special issue in cooperation with international authoritative journals.
