In accordance with the requirements of the "Notice of the General Office of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology on Organizing the Selection of Academician Candidates of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2019" (issued by the Office of the Association for Science and Technology [2019] No. 1), the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy organized the selection work, and in strict accordance with the "China Association for Science and Technology recommend (Nomination) Academician Candidate Work Implementation Measures (Trial)" (Science and Technology Association Fa Group Zi [2014] No. 98), "China Science and Technology Policy Research Association recommend (Nomination) Academician Candidate Work Implementation Rules (Interim)" and other documents, established the "Chinese Science and Technology Policy Research Association Selection of Academician Candidates Expert Committee", "Chinese Science and Technology Policy Research Association Selection of Academician Candidates Material Review Group", "Chinese Science and Technology Policy Research Association Selection of Academician Candidates Working Group", actively organize various branches to carry out selection work.
On February 25, 2019, the Research Association held an expert review meeting for the selection of academician candidates. After the experts voted by secret ballot, the number of votes was not less than 2/3, and it was decided to recommend 2 candidates for the Chinese Academy of Engineering to the Chinese Association for Science and Technology. The candidates approved by the examination are now publicized as follows (in order of surname pinyin):
