Over the past decade or so, there have been frequent academic exchanges on science and technology management and policy between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. As a group of young scholars with the most innovative spirit, doctoral students are the backbone of the future development of both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In order to promote long-term exchanges and mutual exchanges between doctoral students in the field of science and technology management and policy on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, we will jointly discuss academic research topics of science and technology management. In 2017, Taiwan Jiaotong University and the China Science and Technology Policy Research Association jointly organized the "Fifth Cross-Strait Science and Technology Management and Policy Doctoral Forum". The theme of the forum mainly focuses on the theory and practice of cross-strait science and technology innovation policy and management, as well as the successful experience and problems faced by industrial and regional innovation and development, so as to promote the interaction and exchange of young students on both sides of the strait. strengthening mutual contact and understanding is of great and positive significance to the future development of science and technology, economy and industry on both sides of the strait. The first and second sessions will be held at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, the third at Tsinghua University in Hsinchu, the fourth at Southwest University in Chongqing, and the fifth will be held at Hsinchu Jiaotong University on the (V) of October 6, 2017.

The theme of this conference focuses on the relevant applications of emerging technologies in the information software industry, such as "big, intelligent, mobile, cloud-big data, intelligent devices, mobile applications, and cloud computing", as well as the strategic research of emerging technologies and industries. It is intended to promote the interaction and exchange of research trends in "big, intelligent, mobile, and cloud" among young students on both sides of the strait, and to share knowledge and creativity, strengthening academic ties and understanding in scientific and technological innovation, making suggestions for the development of both sides of the strait, and deepening cross-strait exchanges and cooperation are of positive and positive significance to the future development of both sides of the strait.
