On September 8-9, the first cross-strait doctoral forum on science and technology management and policy, jointly sponsored by the China Science and Technology Policy Research Association and the Chinese Science and Technology Management Association, and hosted by the Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held in Beijing.
The forum is sponsored by non-governmental science and technology associations representing the highest level of science and technology management and policy on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The participants are the most innovative and dynamic doctoral students. The purpose of the forum is to build an exchange platform for academic discussion, mutual contact and deepening understanding for the backbone of cross-strait future development. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by researcher Mu Rongping, vice chairman of the China Science and Technology Policy Research Association and director of the Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher Fang Xin, chairman of the China Science and Technology Policy Research Association, academician of the Chinese Society of Science and Technology Management, Professor Yuan Jianzhong of Jiaotong University (Hsinchu), and Vice Minister Chen Jian of the Communication Department of the China Association for Science and Technology attended, professor Liu Xilin of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Chen Jin of Tsinghua University gave a conference report for students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
This forum received active contributions from doctoral students in the field of science and technology management and policy from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and was screened, more than 30 doctoral students from more than 20 universities, including University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing), Tsinghua University (Hsinchu), Tsinghua University (Beijing), Jiaotong University (Hsinchu), Jiaotong University (Xi'an), Zhejiang University, Dalian University of Technology, Fuzhou University, Political University (Taipei), Sun Yat-sen University (Kaohsiung) and Asia University (Taichung), attended the meeting to make academic exchange reports, more than 20 professors and researchers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait made in-depth and detailed comments on the doctoral report as judges. The forum finally selected 12 excellent papers, which will be recommended to well-known journals at home and abroad for publication.
The organizer intends to work together to build the "Cross-Strait Science and Technology Management and Policy Doctoral Forum" into a first-class academic platform in the cost professional field, and establish a long-term development mechanism. Through the rotation of the forum between the two sides of the strait, the academic ties between Chinese scholars will be strengthened and the Chinese language will be expanded.
