Qian Xuesen, an outstanding scientist, is the first person to advocate scientific research in China. On the centenary of Mr. Qian Xuesen's birth, in order to deeply cherish the memory of Mr. Qian Xuesen's outstanding contribution to the development of science in China, and to promote the theoretical research and discipline construction of science in China, sponsored by the Professional Committee of Science Theory and Discipline Construction of China Science and Technology Policy Research Association, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Dalian University of Technology, and the Research Center of Science and Technology Ethics and Science and Technology Management of Dalian University of Technology, the "100 Anniversary of Mr. Qian Xuesen's Birth and Qian Xuesen" Academic Seminar on Science Thoughts "was held in Dalian University of Technology on December 17, 2011. More than 300 teachers and students from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian City and other domestic units and seminar representatives attended the morning conference.

In the morning meeting, Major General Tu Yuanji, Mr. Qian Xuesen's secretary and academic assistant, was invited to give a conference theme report on "Qian Xuesen's Scientific Spirit". Based on his 16 years of work and experience in sorting out manuscripts by Mr. Qian Xuesen, through the scientific activities and daily work that Mr. Qian has been engaged in all his life, it vividly tells the life story of Qian Lao's treatment of career, scholarship, friends, honor, status, money, etc., showing Qian Lao's scientific spirit. Noble sentiment and great personality, deeply affected the delegates and the majority of teachers and students.

In the afternoon meeting, discussions were held around Mr. Qian Xuesen's scientific thoughts. Professor Liu Zeyuan of Dalian University of Technology fondly recalled the experience of writing letters with Mr. Qian Xuesen during the 16 years from 1982 to 1998, and shared with everyone Qian Lao's profound and unique scientific thoughts, including Qian Lao's system science and System view, thinking science and methodology, science and technology system, knowledge economy and technology economy, etc. Researcher Peng Shutang from Beijing Science Research Center started from a speech by Mr. Qian Xuesen on private science and technology industry 24 years ago, combined with the development of private science and technology enterprises and the construction of the theoretical system of private economy, this paper discusses the significance of Qian Xuesen's science and technology economic thought and its special contribution to the development of private science and technology enterprises. Researcher Duan Yibing of the Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences combined Qian Xuesen's work experience before and after returning to China and the historical and social conditions at that time to discuss the background of Qian Xuesen's "On Technical Science. In his report on Qian Xuesen's erudition, Professor Sui Ping of Xiamen Institute of Technology believes that Mr. Qian Xuesen's outstanding achievements in many disciplines are not only closely related to his scientific innovation spirit, but also benefit from his erudition. Qian Xuesen's erudite view and practice have provided valuable ideological wealth for our scientific and technological innovation activities and the cultivation of innovative talents. Teacher Cao Hongtao of Northeastern University mainly discussed the internal logical relationship between the dialectical movement of nature and science, technology, engineering, and industry, and constructed a natural dialectics discipline system under the guidance of Sinicized Marxism. At the meeting, Professor Wang Xukun of Dalian University of Technology took Qian Xuesen's scientific thought as an example and proposed to take the research of scientists as an important task of scientific research.
