On December 4, 2010, the Sixth Congress of the Chinese Society of Science and Technology Policy was held in the Academic Hall of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. More than 200 representatives from all over the country attended the general assembly.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by researcher Mu Rongping, vice chairman of the Research Association and director of the Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Chairman Fang Xin made a work report on behalf of the Fifth Council, summarizing the work of the past five years from the aspects of academic exchange activities, consulting services and subject research, editing and publishing work, important commemorative activities, organizational construction and other work, and put forward the basic ideas for the next step. Mr. Feng Zhijun, Honorary Chairman of the Research Association, attended the meeting and made an enthusiastic speech to encourage everyone to forge ahead under the new situation. Luo Wei, honorary chairman of the research society, also attended the meeting. The Congress elected a new Council of 155 members.
The sixth Council held a Council meeting on the afternoon of December 4, which elected Comrade Fang Xin as chairman, five comrades, including Mu Rongping, Li Jianmin, Li Xinnan, Li Lianshui and Chen Jin, as vice-chairmen, 49 comrades, including Wang Chunfa, as executive directors, and Comrade Lu Jinghua as secretary-general. The directors spoke freely and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the development of the seminar.
The first meeting of the sixth standing Council was held on the evening of December 4, and the executive directors expressed their views on discipline orientation, academic activities, and the development of the society. In his summary, Chairman Fang Xin emphasized that the research society should do a good job in the following aspects: carry out academic exchange activities and create a high-quality platform; strengthen basic theoretical research to drive academic activities with topics; and strengthen the self-construction of the society based on members.
