Liu Xielin is a well-known expert in innovation management and innovation policy. Professor of the School of Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2006-present, 2008-2012, Vice Dean of the School of Management), currently director of the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management Research Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and concurrently vice chairman of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy. Since his work, he has directly participated in the formulation of science and technology development strategies and plans and innovation policies by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has made important contributions to the research of the national innovation system and the knowledge economy. He has won the first prize for scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Education (2001), the second prize for teaching achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2008), the second prize for social sciences of the Ministry of Education (2015), the first Outstanding contribution Award of the Chinese Society of Technology and Economics (2015), and Cheng Siwei Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (2016).
Professor Liu Shilin is one of the earliest scholars to carry out innovation research in China. He has opened up many new fields of innovation management research and completed many high-level research work on innovation management. He has published many influential papers in the famous Research Policy magazine and was selected as a Most Cited Chinese Researchers in China in the field of business, management and accounting from 2014 to 2016 published by Elsevier (Elsevier). He is a member of the expert review group of the Management Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and a judge of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
He has presided over a number of research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and participated in a number of international cooperation projects such as the Seventh Framework Program of the European Union, the "BRICS", the World Bank, OECD, and the Asian Development Bank. He is one of the first Chinese scholars to publish papers in international authoritative academic journals such as Research Policy and Technovation. The editor-in-chief published the well-known "China Regional Innovation Capability Report" and "China Science and Technology Development Research Report" at home and abroad. He has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at many important international conferences on innovation management. Consulting and research on strategic planning for a number of listed companies.
Academic part-time jobs include editor-in-advisory of Research Policy, editor-in-chief of Science and Science and Technology Management, and editor-in-chief of Asia Journal of Innovation and Policy.
